Chimes are back

The Chimes are back on the Liver Head Office clock. They were first introduced in 1953 as a memorial to Royal Liver staff who died during the recent 2 world wars.Four years ago they stopped working and despite many efforts to repair them, they have only now been made to work again.A digital recording of the sound has been made and it is now played through special speakers between 7am and 10pm( so that people nearby are not disturbed at night.)Cost has been about £10000 but it is hoped that the chimes will continue for at least another 10 years.
